Daily Prompt: Talking in Your Sleep

The prompt:

Have you ever eavesdropped on a conversation you weren’t supposed to? Tell us about a time when it was impossible not to overhear a conversation between people who didn’t know you were there. What was the conversation about? How did it make you feel?

The one thing that really rings back in my head is this little time in middle school that I walked by a room and heard some friends talking about me. It wasn’t the most positive conversation in the world, either – although I couldn’t tell you the details of it anymore for the life of me. But I think we all overhear something like that at least one time in our lives, whether it was in school, in the workplace or in other social situations. It kind of reverts to the old cliche, you find out who your friends are in that type of situation.
