In 2011 I put this blog together as a way to keep all of the writing I had done for my college journalism job in one place. For awhile I didn’t know what this blog was going to be and it has had many iterations. But, as 2024 begins, I think I am getting a sense of what I want this year of the blog to be:
Everything. This will be a space for movies, games, prompts, and a variety of creative writing and photography. My goal is to have at least a post a day for the entire year (I also have a letterboxd goal of logging a film a day) but I think I can do a little bit better than that. I want to get back in the habit of a writing routine and now have the time and focus to really do that (and, honestly, I’m excited).
Third paragraph in and I’m realizing I’ve buried the lead, Hi! I’m Nick. I’m a teacher (High-school English) who thought he was going to be a journalist and continue screenwriting on the side, but I fell in love with coaching football and pursued that relentlessly aaaand that’s done (for the moment). After a couple of months of soul-searching I’ve come to the realization that I want to be writing again. I enjoy getting on here. I enjoy thinking about what movie I’m going to watch. I enjoy responding to prompts. And, more than anything, I’ve enjoyed going down the little roads of creativity that this recent venture has provided.
So, that’s kind of where I am. I’ll post a link to the old about section here and the best place to start first. My 2024 is going to be about writing and reading so please drop a link to whoever you are.
The "Untitled Project"
