A good knife is everything

I just started cooking more meals than pasta-based dishes and what I have found is a good knife can make everything.

The dishes I have tried recently involve a grip of chopping , slicing and dicing and a good knife can add confidence to the preparation of a meal. Plus it is fun playing with really big knives. What other time can you do that?
