I need to start venturing into the novel/short story portion of my bag of tricks, especially if I want to get into the graduate school I want to get into. So I’ve been thinking about a couple of different things I could possibly write and I have the first 191 words down of something that could turn out to be interesting. Why not share it? Take a look at what I am currently calling Socially Accepted Addict:

Socially Accepted Addict

The room was dank. And empty, well, except for us. Four pillars mask the room and serve as a box for our chairs. We are waiting on Gary. I have no clue who Gary is but he runs the meetings. The five of us sat silent, staring at each other, the clock, the walls and everyone’s little symptoms. We all have our little symptoms.

Barry and Sophie sat to my left. Barry has rings around his eyes and alcohol on his breath. His eyes stay fixated on the clock. Sophie on the other hand, can’t sit still. She’ll sit down, shift, get up, walk to the donut table, come back and repeat the whole process. It was like watching a cat in a box.

Alice and Dan sat to my right. Alice is wearing so much makeup it looks as if she has gone bad. She crossed her legs and her skirt rose a little higher. Her legs are bruised. Dan wore a suit. There’s a gold watch on his right arm and he occasionally looks up from his smart phone as if he is late for something. He is.

Welcome to the empty recesses of my mind! I'm a recent college graduate realizing a Creative Writing degree was a bad idea. Give me a pity like. Or you could check out the about sections (on the front page and about this author page) on my blog to learn a little more about me. Whatever. https://thebohemianrockstarpresents.wordpress.com/
