What i got for Christmas wasn’t two of my front teeth but alot of electronic stuff and some books. Lets start with the stuff for the screen.
Assassin’s Creed III: This game kicks ass. I’ve spent alot of time since Christmas night playing this game and I’m really hooked. Honestly, the reason why i am not playing it right now is because i wanted to write this post and watch a bit of The West Wing on Netflix (by the way, how good is The West Wing? Freaking awesome, that’s what).
To explain the story line of the game in great detail would take hours, so i am going to try just to give a general account. Think the open play style of the Grand Theft Auto series combined with the detail of a Final Fantasy series and the all out battle strategy of Halo. Oh, and it is all set between 1750 and 1780. Imagine running through Boston kicking Red Coat ass, hunting bears in the forests outside of Lexington, it’s kind of amazing.
TED: I want to develop a new acronym for this movie. How about FAF ( Funny as Fuck)? Like, “That movie is FAF,” or “That dude is so FAF, I was laughing all night.” Anyways, the movie was the first thing i put on Tuesday. I think we were all saturated with the plot well enough when the movie was in theaters (grown man who is still friends with his alive teddy bear and the girl friend doesnt like it) that i don’t have to go into it. The extras were pretty funny though. Go spend the $20. You’ll like it. Promise.
The Dark Knight Rises: I haven’t watched the extras on it yet, but it is a cool special box.
Adobe Lightroom 4: While it doesn’t have quite the editing power of Photoshop, Lightroom allows me to finally have the ability to professionally edit my photos and videos. Now i just have to learn how to use it. I’ve been playing with it the past couple of days and it is kind of easy to pick up, but i don’t feel like i have it mastered yet. It does some pretty cool things with black and white photos.
A pair of slippers and shoes: (read the previous big post).
Two books: My sister got me some books for Christmas The first one was a book by Bill O’Riley (it actually looks good, shockingly) about President Lincoln and the aftermath of his death. The second, which also looks interesting, is Game of Thrones. Now i have to add those to my list of things i have to read before the semester is finished. At least it will make for some interesting blog posts.
I also got a cool New England Patriots T-shirt and some socks and a mess of chocolate.
On other fronts, my car will be back home soon! The Insurance company valued the damage at $3.800 and with the deductible they will cut me a check worth $2.800. But the good thing is we expect to get the car done for under $2,000. Bottom line: I expect to have jade back before school starts and i am really excited about that.
